Church of San Lorenzo

A medieval church suspended between sea, sky and rock over an ancient port.

The church of San Lorenzo in Varigotti dominates, from above, a natural harbour that is protected by the Crena promontory that overlooks the sea. This bay for centuries, currently known as the “baia dei Saraceni” (The Saracens Bay), offered shelter to the ships that sailed the Mediterranean routes.

It’s a part of the coastline, dominated by steep mountains, in which suggestions linked to a sea landscape, sky and rock merge with historic secular long events.

The church can be visited during visiting hours or on request, the visit is organized by the “Amici di San Lorenzo” Association.

The visit is part of the “open art” project that is promoted by MUDIF.

HOW WE MAINTAIN FINALE OUTDOOR REGION TRAIL NETWORK

Sustainable outdoor tourism means putting the territory first.

Finale Ligure and the Finale Outdoor Region, renowned for their world-class MTB trails, hold a unique distinction: they are not just another bike park! The expansive territory, home to hundreds of kilometres of MTB trails, is open to all. But how do we protect this precious heritage, the culmination of years of dedicated work by numerous enthusiasts, from the potential damage caused by the frequent passage of riders?

Planning day-to-day maintenance work on the trail network is necessary for this fantastic treasure to continue. This includes tasks such as erosion control, trail surface maintenance, and vegetation management, all of which are crucial for the sustainability and safety of our trails. The only way we can meet the territory's needs and continue to offer some of the most enjoyable MTB trails in the world is by efficiently organizing the trail-building works.
