FINALE OUTDOOR REGION CLEAN UP DAY: save the date and join us for a cleaner territory!
If you, like us, care about the environment and are disheartened by seeing piles of abandoned trash or even just papers, cigarette butts, and bottles in the woods, then Sunday, June 16th, is your chance to make a difference.
How? Join us for a day dedicated to cleaning our beloved Finale Outdoor Region!
In 2024, the FOR consortium started collaborating with Trash Free Trails, an English organization committed to raising awareness about respecting the environment during sports activities and promoting small, concrete actions to help keep trails and territories cleaner.
During the UCI Enduro World Cup from May 10-12, we had the pleasure of hosting and personally meeting the Trash Free Trails team. We are now excited to announce that Finale Outdoor Region has begun to become a Trash Free Trails Approved Community.As part of this commitment, we have abolished coffee capsules, plastic cups, bottles, and, in general, all single-use plastic products. We encourage everyone to use tap water, set up more recycling points at the Finale Outdoor Base. FOR has also launched a project to recover and recycle bicycle tires, inner tubes, and sports shoes, thanks to a partnership with Esosport, a project for collecting end-of-life sports equipment that started in 2009. Previously destined for mixed waste collection, these materials can now be regenerated into secondary raw materials at the ESO RECYCLING facility to be transformed into sports facility flooring and bike lanes.
But our actions to do our part continue! Throughout the year, we will organize several clean-up days. We start with the first event on Sunday, June 16th, focusing on the Manie area, which is popular with hikers, bikers, and picnickers. Everyone can participate in their preferred activity (biking, hiking, running), and if divided into groups, we will clean up this wonderful area as much as possible!Here are the event details:
- Meeting point:10:30 AM at the Outdoor Base in Via per Gorra 10
- Materials: Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided
- Transfer: We will carpool to the Manie
- End of work:1:30 PM with the option to have lunch at one of the local trattorias
This is just the first of other events we will organize throughout the year, focusing on different areas of the Finale Outdoor Region that deserve our care and respect.
