Panoramic circuit on a historic pathway overlooking the sea in the picturesque setting of Varigotti, surrounded by the scent of olive groves and aromatic herbs.
A beautiful and scenic itinerary begins in Varigotti, at the base of Strada Vecchia, a captivating historic mule track known as the Strada del Boriolo.During the initial phase of the uphill route, visitors will come across the magnificent Villa Terruzzi, a recently restored Art Nouveau castle dating back to 1915. The ascent leads through ancient terraced terrains, amidst centuries-old olive trees, providing a breathtaking view of the picturesque village of Varigotti.
As the panorama unfolds towards the west and the charming Capo San Donato, one follows an ancient paved road, laid with stones by hand over nine centuries ago. This road, considered a historical gem, is off-limits to cyclists and exclusively reserved for pedestrians to maintain its integrity.
The path becomes more pleasant among the olive trees, crossing dry-stone terraces, until reaching a rock formation known as Sciaccanegrette, where a striking Madonnina stands. Finally, reaching the summit, the highest and most panoramic point of the entire route, known as the 'Balcony on the Sea', offering a spectacular view of the Ligurian Sea.
